Write in Arabic (right-to-left)

Arabic manuscripts, mixed Arabic and English text, Arabic fonts and exporting an Arabic book.

Updated Oct 11, 2026

Arabic manuscript, any interface language

Each project has a manuscript language. Choose Arabic when you create the project (or in Project settings) and the editor writes right-to-left with Arabic typography — even if you use Inktoria in English.

Mixed text

Paragraphs follow the direction of their first strong letter, so an English quotation inside an Arabic chapter stays readable. Numbers and punctuation are placed the way Arabic readers expect.

Fonts

Arabic projects default to Amiri. In Settings → Editor you can also choose Noto Naskh Arabic or Scheherazade for writing.

Exporting

Word (DOCX) export keeps right-to-left paragraphs and uses an Arabic font and A4 pages. On Writer and Studio you can choose the font, margins and headings yourself, and export to PDF and EPUB.
