Turn your manuscript into Word, EPUB, PDF, a web page, Markdown or plain text.
Updated Oct 11, 2026
Open Compile from the workspace to turn your manuscript into a finished file.
Formats
- Word (DOCX) — for editors, agents, Word, Pages and Google Docs.
- EPUB — a reflowable e-book for Apple Books, Kobo and e-readers.
- PDF — made by your browser (see below).
- Web page (HTML), Markdown and Plain text.
Presets
Start from a built-in preset and adjust it:
- Standard manuscript format — 12 pt Courier Prime, double-spaced, 1″ margins, with an Author / Title / page header.
- Paperback draft — 11 pt serif on 6×9 in pages.
- Simple eBook — reflowable text without page numbers.
Changed the settings? Save as preset to reuse them next time.
Choosing what's included
Under Contents, tick the chapters and scenes to export. Each document's Include in compile setting (also in the binder's right-click menu) is the default. Research and notes are never included.
You can also add a title page with your contact details and an approximate word count, and pick a chapter heading style such as Chapter One or Chapter 1.
Making a PDF
Inktoria opens a print-ready view and your browser's print dialog appears. Choose Save as PDF (or Microsoft Print to PDF) as the destination, and turn off the browser's own Headers and footers option for clean pages. If nothing opens, allow pop-ups for this site and try Open print view again.
