Create your first project
Start a novel, novella, short story or collection — or skip the questions with Quick start.

Every book in Inktoria lives in its own project. From Projects, choose New project.
Step by step
- What are you writing? Pick Novel, Novella, Short story, Story collection or Blank project. This only shapes the starting structure.
- Choose a starting structure. Templates simply create ordinary chapters and scenes — you can rename, move or delete any of them later.
- Project details. Add a title and, if you like, a genre, author name, target word count and deadline.
Manuscript language
The Manuscript language (English or Arabic) sets the text direction, default fonts and typography rules for your writing. An Arabic manuscript is written right-to-left even when the app itself is in English.
In a hurry?
Use Quick start to skip the questions: you get a blank manuscript with Chapter 1, Scene 1 and can start typing straight away.
Already have a draft?
- Import manuscript brings in an existing Word document.
- Restore backup opens an Inktoria backup file as a new project.
Tip: star a project to keep it under Favorites, and archive finished books to tidy up your list.
